What is AAO?
AAO (AI Answer Optimization) is the practice of optimizing your brand, products, services, and content so that AI assistants — ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini — recommend them as the best answer when responding directly to user queries.
It is sometimes grouped with GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) and AEO (Answer Engine Optimization) as the three pillars of AI visibility optimization.
How does it differ from GEO and AEO?
The three concepts are closely related and often used interchangeably. When distinctions are drawn, the following framework is common:
